One of the most popular comedy duos, Laurel and Hardy, are still alive in our hearts. In fact, an aged couple that resides in Romford owns a life-sized statue of the pair, which went missing from their property nearly a year ago.
Fortunately, they have been found and returned to the owners.
Well, Lesley Haylett and Peter Elliott were over the moon when the police informed them that the statues had been recovered. The officers were carrying out a search operation when they found the figures under a blue tarpaulin in a garage.
While the couple had lost all hopes of getting their belongings back, the officials were trying their best to find leads. As per Yahoo! News, business owner Dean Floyd had offered a prize reward of £10,000 for the person who would come up with a name.
Lesley Haylett gifted these fiberglass statues to her partner Peter Elliott four decades ago. Moreover, Haylett and Elliott hold an annual charity exhibition in which they display these statues. The exhibition has been taking place for the last thirty-six years.
Over the last few years, Laurel and Hardy have gone missing four times. The last incident took place in 2015, and with several efforts, they were finally found after three years.
We hope that this year Lesley and Elliott hold the charity with great pomp and show just how they used to in the past.
