In a shocking mishap that destroyed a house in Dulwich Road, Birmingham, on Sunday evening, a man was rescued from its premises in critical condition. According to BBC, the incident took place at 20:30 BST, and the noise of the blast could be heard from two miles.
After the explosion, several people rushed to the scene, and a few of them even went on to rescue a man trapped in the building. Upon entering the house, they could hear him screaming for help.
Even though the house was partially on fire, these brave men were able to get him out right on time. He was then rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s trauma center.
In addition to that, four more people were hurt. However, they suffered minor injuries and were discharged shortly after getting the treatment.
Three ambulances, five paramedics, a hazardous area response team, and a critical care paramedic rushed to the spot after the news of the explosion was reported.
The policemen thanked the people on the scene for rescuing and caring for the injured. Besides, they also stated that the blast affected around six other houses and several vehicles in the neighborhood.
Following the incident, people were barred from entering Dulwich road and the surrounding areas. While the cause of the blast is yet to be confirmed, the police force suspects it to be a gas explosion.
