Astronomers have discovered a pair of black holes in the galaxy which are supermassive holes and they are found closest to Earth than anything they have seen before. The earlier discovery was, the closest black hole to the solar system is situated maybe just 1,000 light-years away, approximately. But the newly found theory tells that the black hole or the dark neighbor is at least 4.2 times as massive as the sun. And he is situated along with two ordinary stars in the neighbor of him.
Also, the astronomer’s report is stating that it has funny orbits which gave the black hole’s presence away. The small operation is claiming that the velocity of two black holes indicates that they will merge and form a new state of a monster black hole within the next 250 million years. And they also have been examining how the gravitational pull of those black holes influences the motion of the stars around them. An astronomer at the Strasbourg Observatory in France and lead author of the study, Karina Voggel says, “It is the first time we find two supermassive black holes that are this close to each other”.
Ok, so how do the supermassive black holes would affect us? These supermassive black holes lurk at the center of the galaxies, and when such galaxies merge, the black holes end up in a massive collision course. According to the researchers, there is a small separation between these massive holes and this separation means they will merge into one monster and result in a collision. Simulations predict that these mergers will emit both gravitational and radiation waves into the galaxies. And later they will emit heat and interstellar gases. There was a problem signing you up.“Ultimately, it was the binary system that best explains everything,” says astronomer Abigail Frost of KU Leuven in Belgium.
But according to the studies and their current position, they will not merge till 250 million years, so, we don’t need to worry about that. However, when the astronomers suspected the presence of two black holes in the galaxies, they had not been able to detect their presence till now. That is happening because they don’t usually see a large amount of high-energy radiation coming from their surroundings.
