Ricky Martin says in a video that the past couple of weeks have been mentally very straining for him as well as his family. He terms it as ‘painful.’
The musician’s lawyers have previously stated that all the allegations made against him were false. They stated that Ricky was never involved in a sexual relationship with his 21-year-old nephew.
On Thursday, the 50-year-old singer won the legal battle after the judge dismissed the restraining order against him.
He then stated the following in the video: he kept silent on this matter for the past two weeks because he wanted to take everything legally. He is talking about it now because he wants to come out of it and wants to heal from this ordeal.
He mentioned that he is happy that the truth has come out, but it has been mentally draining for him and his family. Ricky Martin also mentioned that he wishes the person who did this a new and happy life, and he hopes he never does the same thing with anyone else.
He also thanked his fans for believing in him and offering their love and care for him. Ricky mentions that his priority as of now is to heal and come out of this situation. He wants to perform and focus on his career, and that he cannot wait to get back to the stage and sing. He wants to do it for himself and his fans.
Martin’s legal team gave an official statement to Metro UK: ‘Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court. The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure.’
