Kate Middleton has recently made an announcement about the new collaboration she has done with the famous tennis player and family friend Roger Federer. This collaboration aims to provide aid for underprivileged and needy children.
Within a few hours that this news came out, this collaboration gained love and support and the fans of Roger Federer started praising him on social media for doing something for needy children. There will be other great players too present in the practice session from both teams, and fans are excited to witness them too.
On the 22nd of September, the Laver Cup practice session will be held at The O2 in London. Roger Federer is the co-founder of the Laver Cup, and on the mentioned date, Team Europe and Team World will have their final practice session before they have an actual face-off in the championship.
Fans are way too excited as they will be able to watch the practice session, and most of the Roger Federer fans have already booked their seats for the same.
So the collaboration is going to support the two charities of which Kate Middleton is a patron. The charities are – Action for Children and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has a sub-foundation under it called the LTA Tennis Foundation, which does philanthropic work.
A day of the Laver cup will be for children selected from Action for Children and there will also be local youth who will be given a chance to participate in the LTA Serves program. These children will have to be between the age group of eight to a maximum of fifteen years old to be able to participate. Roger Federer and Kate Middleton too will be present in the match.
Roger Federer is Kate Middleton’s family friend and he, along with his wife Mirka, attended the wedding ceremony of Kate’s sister Pippa in 2017. He also made a visit to the royal child in Buckleberry, Berkshire, in 2019.
Roger Federer, who has won the grand slam championship 20 times, is also the favorite player of Prince George. The Swiss tennis player has also met Prince George a couple of times and gave him tips and bits of advice on tennis. Roger also mentioned that George plays well.
The idea of this collaboration and establishing a connection between the Laver Cup and Kate’s organization was an idea suggested by Kate Middleton herself, as stated by Kensington Palace.
