Lea Michele has been roped in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl. She replaces Beanie Feldstein in the show.
Feldstein announced that she is exiting the show on July 31. Although there were rumors about Lea Michele replacing Beanie, the producers confirmed the same. The news was established just a day after Feldstein announced her departure.
Reportedly, Feldstein was supposed to leave the show on September 25. The decision for her to quit was that the directors wanted to take the show in a different direction, and Feldstein could not align with the same.
Apart from this, there is no other reason that the producers or Feldstein stated.
Lea Michelle is excited about her role and says it’s her dream come true. She shared her excitement through an Instagram post and captioned it as –
‘A dream come true is an understatement. I’m incredibly honored to join this amazing cast and production and return to the stage playing Fanny Brice on Broadway. See you September 6th.
