On the 25th of March, Taylor started to feel severe chest pain while he was in his hotel room at Four Seasons Casa Medina Hotel. He informed his team, and emergency services were called for.
The doctors arrived and tested Hawkins, but he was not responding. He was then declared dead even before he was taken to the hospital. However, there was no cause of death stated.
While his body was taken to the hospital for further examination, a preliminary urine toxicology test stated that ten substances were found in the body of Taylor Hawkins at the time of his death. These substances included tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, opioids, and THC. Reports about this were given by the Columbian authorities the next day after Taylor’s death.
