Marvel Horror Special Werewolf by Night receives praise from critics. They call it ‘Refreshing and Bloody”. The series features Gael Garcia Bernal, and the horror special shows five monster hunters who are in search of a relic.
The monster hunters fight amongst each other and are for the relic as it has the strength to bring a dangerous creature. The series is of 50 minutes, and Michael Giacchino is the director of the special. It is soon going to air on the Disney+ platform.
However, given below are the first reviews from the critics, which you can check:
The Verge: The Marvel Horror Special brings the audience to a world of live-action. It seems like a Marvel movie is crossed with Tales From the Crypt. Many of the recent Blockbusters which were released recently have failed the expectation as they were not what they promised to be. However, this one is different. Marvel has done a tremendous job, and it will make you want more.
The Hollywood Reporter: The conversation between Jack and Elsa, no matter if it was for a few couple of minutes, might not be that flirting, but at least flirting. Marvel’s job in this special was phenomenal, and the exciting capper at the end of the horror special will make you want more of such works from Marvel.
And it had to be one, after all, we have the versatile actor Gael Garcia Bernal who plays the role of a werewolf who is chasing monsters. Seems like Marvel has no rules, and they can make movies, feature-length movies, TV series, etc. Honestly, it does not matter until Marvel keeps entertaining the audience.
Variety: Werewolf by Night is a great effort by Marvel to step into a different genre. It is an amusing turn from Marvel’s side. There is no doubt that Marvel succeeded at trying a different genre. Excited about the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is coming in December and is probably a short-feature film.
IGN: Although the style of the movie is old, it is refreshing and lively enough to hook the audience. It is a classic horror that the audience must not have witnessed for a long time now.
It is a classic take on movies based on Monsters and is scary as it should be catering to the modern audience. The twists of the special are enough for the audience to not lose interest and eagerly wait for the upcoming parts.
Rolling Stone: You might find movies and Television shows based on horror everywhere. There are a lot of movies based in this genre, as well as movies based on superstars. They are everywhere. However, we are living in a world of Marvel, and it has welcomed the audience to a horror classic made in the 70s but refined in a manner to suit the audience of the 21st century. Welcome to the world of Marvel, and hoping that Marvel drops such films often.
